Popular bibliophile fantasy series Ascendance of a Bookworm, by author Kazuki Miya, is just months away from the release of its highly anticipated fourth season.
With a now-confirmed premiere date of April 4, 2026, fans will once again return to the duchy of Ehrenfest as Myne—now Rozemyne—begins a new life as the lord’s adopted daughter. Following the events of the light novel’s third arc, Rozemyne steps fully into the world of nobility, pursuing her lifelong ambition: to create books and become the librarian she has always longed to be.
As she loosens her ties to life in the lower city, develops her growing industries, and learns to harness her immense mana, Rozemyne finds herself entering a new chapter—one filled with deepening bonds, mounting challenges, and an ominous threat looming on the horizon.
While the continuation of the anime was previously announced by Wit Studio, new details have now been confirmed. The series will begin broadcasting in early April and will run for two consecutive cours (two quarters), starting with the spring anime season and concluding at the end of the summer season, spanning April through September.
Given the sheer volume of story contained within Part Three of the light novels, along with the extensive groundwork required for the transition into the fourth arc, it is a welcome relief that the studio has the time necessary to fully adapt this pivotal segment of Rozemyne’s journey.
Alongside this announcement, a new key visual featuring series leads Rozemyne and Ferdinand has been released. Not only is the artwork breathtaking, but it also carries an air of unease—subtly foreshadowing the challenges and developments awaiting them in this chapter of the story.
The updated art style for Ascendance of a Bookworm shines not only in the poster, but also in motion. As seen in the newly released trailer, the animation looks particularly striking. Fans are also treated to a first listen of the opening theme, “Pages,” performed by Little Glee Monster.
With April fast approaching, viewers can eagerly anticipate Rozemyne’s return as she begins her life as a noble and the lord’s adopted daughter.
Before diving fully into the new season, Glowline Hues will be taking a series of deep dives into everything Ascendance of a Bookworm.
